Peppermint Filled Brownies

My sister-in-law, Debbie, gave me this recipe a number of years ago.

Brownie
1 stick margarine
1 cup white sugar
4 whole eggs

Beat above ingredients together very well. Then add:

1 can Hersheys Chocolate syrup (16 0z)
1 cup flour
1 t baking powder
1/2 chopped walnuts (optional)

Mix together. Then grease and flour a 10x15 jelly roll pan. Pour above batter in pan and bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. This batter must be cold before putting on peppermint filling.

Peppermint filling

1 stick melted margarine
2 T. milk
2 1/2 cups powered sugar
1 t. peppermint extract
a couple of drops of green food coloring

Mix ingredients together and put on top of cooled brownies. Then cool again.

Frosting
1 stick of margarine
1 large (12oz) of real chocolate chips

Melt together and put over top of filling. Then chill again.
