Play dough and modeling dough

I was going through my recipe draw and found this recipe for play dough that I use to make for my kids when they were younger. Hopefully you have young kids to you can try it out.



2 cups flour
1 cup salt
2 T oil
4 T cream of tartar
2 cups water
add food coloring to make different colors

Cook and stir until the consistency of mashed potatoes. Knead. Store in airtight container, does not need refrigeration.

1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup water

Mix together and use for ornaments, jewelry etc. Dry on paper plate or cardboard and decorate with magic markers.
